Jiaxuan Yi was born in China and attended Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts in 2010, receiving a B.A. in Painting and an M.A. in Drawing Research. He mainly focuses on hospice care, the elderly, and social identity. His work ranges from portraits, figures, still lives, landscapes, Chinese paintings and Chinese calligraphies. As a practitioner of Chinese calligraphy from his early age, Mr. Yi has exhibited his Chinese calligraphies and paintings in Guangzhou and won many prizes in national youth competitions since 1997. During his university days, he received multiple scholarships and awards for his graduation creation and graduation thesis. His oil painting "A Stage towards the End" was awarded with "Sponsored Artist Website Winner 2021" in the art call of "Big Ideas/Small works" organized by the CollexArt gallery in America, and his portrait "Transcendence" was selected for the Royal Institute of Oil Painters Annual Exhibition 2021, which will take place in November in the Mall Galleries, London.
